White Gift Sunday Dec. 15th
Churches continue to play a vital role not only in making someone’s Christmas with simple gifts, but also in declaring that unseen needs are not forgotten. The significance of the White Gift in the church is the visibility of the offering and the ability of people of all ages to contribute. Our gifts from White Gift Sunday will be directed to Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank. Cash or cheque donations made out to Trinity United Church and clearly marked “White Gift” are welcome as well as non-perishable food items such as canned stews, canned tuna, canned meat, canned fruit or jars, pasta sauce in jars, rice, peanut butter, juice packs or cans, cereal and kraft dinner. Your help is greatly appreciated.
WE ARE ALMOST THERE!!
A MESSAGE ABOUT COFFEE HOUR
The coffee hour volunteer list is almost complete. A huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered to make coffee and tea after the services. This time affords us an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and to check in with each other. There are a few dates in April and August that need volunteers. The dates are: April 20 & 27 and August 10,17,24,31. In the summer months we serve juice only and meet each other out on the lawn. Would you kindly consider helping on any of those times. You can call Carol Wells-Gordon at 705-731-0455 to volunteer.
With appreciation, Carol
UCW Bobcaygeon
Several women met on Thursday, November 21st to discuss the future of the “United Church Women” (UCW) Bobcaygeon group. There were some from the Faith, Hope and Love unit, Harmony unit, as well as Providence.
We all felt that there is still a need and desire to continue the good work of the women at Trinity.
High on the list of continuance would be fellowship. Once a month, every third Thursday at 2:00pm we will meet in the Fellowship Room. We will enjoy social time together with the occasional speaker, craft, game or potluck luncheon.
Some past cherished programs were very much valued and would continue with the help of the church. Such as: Meat Pies, Christmas Bazaar, Funeral luncheons. Also, our financial support of the local Women’s Shelter, Bobcaygeon Food Bank, Hat and Mitten Tree; Camp Quin Mo Lac, to list a few.
Our next meeting will be held at the Bobcaygeon Inn @ 1:00pm for the annual Christmas luncheon. Please contact Kim Draper if you would like to attend: Via email - kim.draper.kd@gmail.com or Text - 416-346-6902 or Sue Zilke Ward in the office.
The January 2025 meeting will be held on the 16th and we will reminisce about our past UCW.
See you all there. Kim Draper
